University of Botswana and the faculty of education



Ernest Molai is a teacher. He had studied in the University of Botswana and concretely, in the Faculty of Education. The information below describes not only the different faculties of the global university, but also the departments that forms the Faculty of Education

The University of Botswana, (also called UB) was founded in 1982 and it is composed by four campuses and six faculties. Their campuses are distributed in the cities of Gaborone, Francistown and Maun and the faculties are Business, Education, Engineering, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences, even though next year, in 2009, this university will open a new faculty in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, the faculty of Medicine.

The Faculty of Education is the oldest faculty of the university. It has nine departments which are Adult Education, Educational Foundations, Educational Technology, Home Economics, Languages and Social Sciences, Nursing Education, Physical Education and Primary Education. This faculty also offers several undergraduate programs as well as masters such as PhD and Mphil.

A PhD means Doctor of Philosophy and it is a very well considerate.
A Mphil is lower degree than PhD and it means research and it requires the elaboration of a thesis.
